ClearAudio Innovation Basic Turntable with Magnify ToneArm

The Innovation Basic Wood is based on the technology of the Clearaudio Innovation Wood turntable, but uses a single plinth, smaller plinth as opposed to the stainless steel sub-platter found on the Innovation Wood. Its resonance-optimized chassis shape is based on the proven success of Clearaudio’s three-point design — a combination of Panzerholz, aluminium layers, and aluminium pods.
The Innovation Basic Wood uses Clearaudio’s patented CMB (Ceramic Magnetic Bearing) technology, where the platter magnetically levitates on an inverted bearing attached to a low-friction ceramic shaft. The high-torque DC motor is equipped with electronic OSC (Optical Speed Control). The high-density, dynamically balanced 2.75 polyoxymethylene (POM) platter provides excellent dimensional stability. The Innovation Basic Wood is dual tonearm capable.
Sharing design and construction features with our Innovation series, the new Innovation Basic Wood turntable features a 38mm-thick, dynamically-balanced POM platter. The optimally designed tri-star chassis minimizes resonance in the audible range while delivering maximum stability.
The Ceramic Magnetic Bearing (CMB) and Optical Speed Control (OSC) combine with Clearaudio’s custom high-torque DC motor for excellent speed stability. The Innovation Basic features a second tonearm mount and is available in Silver with Natural Lacquer Panzerholz Wood.
Package includes the Magnify ToneArm - Its hybrid bearing on high-precision balls and magnets make the Magnify tonearm something special. This innovative design not only ensures interference-free and resonance optimized playback, it also noticeably simplifies set-up and adjustment. The headshell and azimuth can be easily fine-tuned and with the optional VTA-Lifter it is possible to adjust the VTA even during playback.
This tonearm defines the standards – not least because it is compatible with many cartridges. It is equipped with high quality Clearaudio DIRECT WIRE in a continuous run from the cartridge connectors to the tonearm cable plugs. A tonearm that stands for ultimate sound clarity.
Hana SL MKII Low Output Moving Coil Cartridge
The new SL MK II has upgrades to enhance both the musical performance, and also to offer greater value at the S Series price point. A new tapered Aluminium cantilever with increased rigidity offers a remarkable improvement in transferring groove modulation from the vinyl record to the cartridge generator. The S Series Mk II indeed features many higher specified parts, advanced materials, and unique technical processes, drawn from Hana’s higher-priced elite cartridge models, furthering the Hana “brilliant and gorgeous” sound.
Critical parts, including the Yoke, Pole-pieces, and gold Terminal pins are cryogenically treated for a more natural sound. An improved non-resonant body shape, modelled after the Hana M Series, is damped with a matte Soft Feel Black elastomeric resin paint, and features a brass top cap plus integral threaded mounting of cartridge. The heavier Mk II cartridge offers better coupling, improving bass and dynamics; and with expanded compatibility to a wider range of tonearms. The SL MK II generator, is as found in the Umami Blue and ML; incorporating an Alnico magnet and cross-coil design, using high purity 30-micron copper wire with an 8Ω impedance, for improved signal to noise, and reduction of moving mass. These improved design features offer higher resolution and traceability, optimizing performance for a broader range of phono stages.
