Following on from the great success of the original model, the Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 Silver features a raft of improvements to make it one of the most exciting music streamers even more appealing. The award-winning sound quality is made even better thanks to an improved power supply. It’s already wide-ranging connectivity is enhanced by an HDMI ARC socket for your TV’s audio output. As ever, sleek and compact design along with excellent finish quality make this a brilliant all-rounder.

Master Edition for uprated performance

Using selected components from its flagship A8 model, the Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 takes sound quality to the next level. Featuring a femtosecond clock system, you get less jitter and lower noise for a purer and less distorted sound. The Master Edition also uses the premium quality op amps from the A8 model. These help improve the refinement, especially at the top yet which is silky smooth and richly detailed. Stylistically, the Master Edition includes RGB dynamic lighting around the volume control.

Rich in streaming options

When it comes to streaming music services, you can take your pick with the DMP-A6 Gen 2. TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Deezer and Amazon Music are integrated into the player, with support for many others via third party apps. The streamer is also compatible with TIDAL Connect and Roon Ready, letting it fit seamlessly into your existing TIDAL or ROON multiroom system. For streaming your personal music library from a NAS drive or PC, it’s also compatible with the DLNA protocol. Internet radio via TuneIn gives you access to thousands of radio stations from around the world.

Powerful DAC and processor, plus a new PSU for sonic precision

At the heart of this high performance music streamer are top quality DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertors) from the premium electronics brand, ESS. Twin ES9038Q2M DACs partner with a third-generation XMOS 16-core processor to deliver the highest resolution and lowest distortion possible, making your music sound more lifelike than ever. The Gen 2 version is fitted with an upgraded, linear power supply. This delivers a cleaner and quieter supply for enhanced music detail and dynamics.

Supports Hi-Res Audio

Thanks to its powerful processor, the DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 works wonders with all types of Hi-Res Audio music files. Connect via USB and you can stream files in studio quality at up to 32 bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512. Coaxial and optical digital inputs support 24 bit/192kHz and DSD64. The DAC also supports MQA files, enabling master quality music playback from compatible sources.

Connect to all your digital devices, including a TV, and use as a DAC

Thanks to its range of digital inputs, the DMP-A6 Gen 2 also works as a DAC for your other digital components. The HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) lets you route your TV’s sound through the DAC. With both USB-B and USB-C inputs you can connect a wide range of desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, the vast majority of OS systems are covered, too. For other devices, such as a CD transport and games console, there are optical and coaxial digital inputs. Should you be without wi-fi but still require a wireless link, there’s even support for Bluetooth via the high quality Qualcomm QCC5125 module.

Your choice of outputs

When it comes to outputting the audio signal, the DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 is equally as impressive. With its fully balanced pre-amp circuitry, the XLR balanced outputs are ideal for connecting to a compatible amp, such as Eversolo’s own F2-Amp. Alternatively, there are also RCA analogue and optical/coaxial digital outputs. In addition to this, there’s also another HDMI (non-ARC) that’s perfect for outputting DSD signals straight to your AVR.

Slick and responsive touchscreen interface

Based around the Android operating system, using the DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 is a slick and seamless process. The six inch, colour touchscreen provides clear graphics and a swift response, making it easy to access the vast array of streaming features. The display also shows colourful artwork or, for some retro fun, pulsating VU metres.

Intuitive app control

Available for iOS Apple and Android, the Eversolo control app adds another layer of control. In addition to basic playback and system settings, the app also supports asynchronous viewing of music library data and menus.
