Pro-Ject Signature 10 Reference Turntable in Gloss Olive with Cadenza Black MC cartridge (£2449) - Ex Demo or New 2M Black LVB 250 MM cartridge
The Signature 10 is a true high-end turntable designed by Pro-Ject Audio Systems. Designed as a more affordable, easier to accommodate version of the superior Signature 12, the Signature 10 uses many of the coveted design aspects of the flagship.
The large, beautifully finished plinth is made from MDF, packed with metal granulate to create a heavy, non-resonant base for the turntable. This plinth then sits on four powerful magnetic feet, which are lined with TPE pillows, for effective decoupling from a hi-fi stand. The result is a successful combination of the 'high-mass' and 'floating turntable' design principles that were first successfully merged by Pro-Ject with the high-end Xtension turntables.
On top of the main plinth, the Signature 10 uses a mass-loaded magnetic sub-chassis, which is perfect for reducing resonance and noise transfer to the cartridge. The large, heavy main platter - taken directly from the Signature 12 turntable, rides on this sub-chassis, rotating on an inverted ceramic main bearing. The main platter itself is machined from a specially selected, resonance-optimised metal alloy, which is internally lined with damping material and topped with melted vinyl records. The turntable is finished with the Signature Record Puck as part of the package.
The external motor is powered by a high-tolerance speed controller, which also allows for easy switching between 33 and 45RPM. The motor rotates the platter via a purpose designed perimeter drive belt, which offers exceptional timing.
The striking 10" Signature tonearm is a unique Pro-Ject design. Unlike anything else in the range, Pro-Ject's Signature Tonearms are made from different metal and aluminium alloys and are tooled with ultra-precise diamond cutters on CNC machinery. Inside the tonearm tube, damping material is meticulously applied to add mass and acoustic integrity, but in order to keep the iconic toe-tapping sound that Pro-Ject is associated with, the tube is mounted on a special, oil-damped Uni-Pivot bearing. To further aid exact set-up, Signature Tonearms can have the VTA, Azimuth and Overhang easily adjusted. The use of a detachable headshell allows the Signature 10 to easily accommodate a variety of high-end cartridges, whether they're for a specific use (such as Mono recordings) or to suit a certain musical style or genre.
The Signature 10 is a true audiophile device, taking all the elements of the flagship but making them more accessible and easier to fit into an existing space.

The Ortofon Cadenza Black model is using a Nude Shibata stylus with a boron cantilever. The effective mass of the stylus/cantilever system is extremely low due to the use of a very thin boron rod. This material is extremely stiff and even more lightweight than aluminium. It also uses the WRD (Wide Range Damping-system applied for MC Windfeld, MC A90, MC Anna, Xpression), controlling the high and low frequency damping separately. The coil wire is the famous Ortofon Aucurum wire, which is a gold plated 6NX copper wire. Cadenza Black is optimized for an amazing tonal neutrality, dynamics and purity of sound. It is high performing on areas like detail, consistency and sound staging.
For Moving Magnet Phono stages - 2M Black LVB 250 Moving Magnet Cartridge
As Ortofon A/S, one of the world’s leading pick-up cartridge manufacturers, are thrilled to announce a new flagship moving magnet cartridge, which also serves to celebrate one of history’s greatest composers.
The 2M Black LVB 250 will join the range in 2021 as a new flagship cartridge, sitting above the hugely popular 2M Black cartridge in the range. The standard 2M Black cartridge from Ortofon is widely acknowledged as being one of the best MM cartridges on the market, but that does not mean that the Danish cartridge experts cannot offer better. The 2M Black LVB 250 draws inspiration from the superior Cadenza Black design to create a moving magnet cartridge of distinction, featuring a Nude Shibata diamond stylus mounted on a boron cantilever.
2M Black LVB 250 Features Moving Magnet (MM) cartridge system, Jet black colourway with new “LVB 250” logo, Nude Shibata diamond, mounted on a boron cantilever and a New rubber compound developed for the suspension system
About the unique 2M design
2M was developed by Ortofon in conjunction with "Møller Jensen Design" from Copenhagen, Denmark - the same designer who collaborated on the award-winning MC Jubilee cartridge, and the coveted Kontrapunkt series.
The inspiration for designing the 2M was related to the facets of the diamond - elegantly concentrating its contours against the grooves on the record surface.
The name 2M was selected among several ideas. Ortofon wanted a modern name which would be easy to pronounce around the world, and to remember. Therefore an alpha-numerical name was chosen...
2M means MM, which is simply the common abbreviation for Moving Magnet.
The 2M range has been structured in the same way as the popular Rondo and Cadenza Moving Coil series, with ascending quality as you move from Red - Blue - Bronze - Black. The spectacular 2m Black has become the flagship of 2M, and all Ortofon moving magnet cartridges.
2M was also the last product designed by Ortofon's former chief engineer, Per Windfield. He developed the 2M series over the final 2 years of his 30 year tenure with Ortofon.
