Wharfedale Elysian 1 is a two-way standmount speaker with an 180mm bass unit and AMT tweeter, bringing the Award-Winning Elysian 4 and Elysian 2 speaker performance to a more compact bookshelf configuration.
The Wharfedale Elysian series pushes the boundaries of loudspeaker technology, is made without cost constraints and the drivers, cabinet and crossover have been developed to work in perfect harmony.
AMT Tweeter
Elysian 1 uses a specially engineered AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter that is more responsive and detailed due to its large, pleated diaphragm that is ultra-lightweight and constructed from a material called ‘PET‘. The Elysian 1 HF driver stands out from its competition by delivering crystal clear high frequencies.
Glass Fibre Matrix Cone
Elysian 1 is capable of revealing the full impact of your audio using its glass fibre matrix bass unit which allows the speaker to reach below 49Hz, a feat that other standmount speakers struggle to reach. Wharfedale have specially developed a low-distortion motor system and a highly flexible rubber surround to efficiently absorb vibrations that affect the audio performance.
Advanced slot-loaded bass port
To prevent distortions typical of bass reflex speakers, the low frequency vibrations are vented to a slot at the base of the speaker using Wharfedale's advanced SLPP (Slot-loaded profiled port). This more efficiently disperses sound, equalising the internal pressure so you can enjoy more thunderous impact.
Because the sound is dispersed more uniformly, you have more flexibility with placement options for the speakers. The Elysian speaker also has a higher sensitivity which makes it easier to drive.
Sophisticated Crossover
Wharfedale Elysian 1 has a sophisticated crossover network, expertly configured over hundreds of hours to ensure a seamless performance from the drive units.
Elegant Design
The Elysian cabinets are designed to both enhance the audio output while also being an elegant and stylish design. The handcrafted veneer exterior is hand polished to 6 degrees of depth to enhance the lacquer and offer a truly standout aesthetic.
